Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethepowersupplyassembly.

Toreplacethepowersupplyassembly,dothefollowing:

1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall

powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.

2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage30.

3.Disconnectthepowersupplyassemblycablesfromthesystemboardandalldrives.See“System-board

internalconnectors”onpage25.

4.Laytheserveronitssideandremovethefourscrewsattherearofthechassisthatsecurethepower

supplyassembly.

5.Slidethepowersupplyassemblytothefrontoftheserverandthenliftitoutofthechassis.

6.Ensurethatthenewpowersupplyassemblyisthecorrectreplacement.

7.Installthenewpowersupplyassemblyintothechassissothatthescrewholesinthepowersupply

assemblyarealignedwiththecorrespondingholesinthechassis.

8.Installandtightenthefourscrewstosecurethenewpowersupplyassembly.
