Replacingthesystemboard
Attention:
Donotopenyourcomputerorattemptanyrepairbeforereadingandunderstandingthe“Importantsafetyinformation”
onpageiii.
CAUTION:
Theheatsinkandmicroprocessormightbeveryhot.Beforeyouopenthecomputercover,turnoff
thecomputerandwaitseveralminutesuntilthecomputeriscool.
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethesystemboard.
Toreplacethesystemboard,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputeranddisconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.
2.Laythecomputeronitssideforeasieraccesstothesystemboard.
3.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage27.
4.RemovetheDOMcard.See“ReplacingtheDOMcard”onpage29.
5.Removethememorymodule.See“Replacingthememorymodule”onpage31.
6.Removethefivescrewsthatsecurethesystemboardbyfollowingthesequenceshowninthefollowing
illustration.Then,carefullypivotthefailingsystemboardupwardtoremoveitoutofthechassis.
