Aftercreatingthelocationproﬁlesrequiredforclientusers,youcanalsomanageanddeploynew,updated,

orrevisedlocationproﬁlestoclientcomputers.Thefollowingexamplesdescribedeploymentscenarios

usedindeployingAccessConnections:

•DeployAccessConnectionsandLocationProﬁlesonnewclientcomputers.

•DeployLocationProﬁlesandClientPolicyonexistingclientcomputersrunningAccessConnections.

•UpgradeexistingAccessConnectionsandmigrateLocationProﬁlesonexistingclientcomputers.

Deployonnewcomputers

TodeployAccessConnectionslocationproﬁlesonnewcomputersthatdonothaveAccessConnections

installed,completethefollowingsteps:

1.CreateanAccessConnectionsdistributionpackage(*.loaand*.sig)withtheLocationProﬁlesthat

containthedesireduseraccesspolicyandclientconﬁgurationpolicyasdescribedinChapter3,

“WorkingwiththeAdministratorFeature,”onpage7.Forunattendedimport,enablethesettingAllow

silentimportofthispackageevenafterinstallationofclientwhilecreatingthe.loaﬁle.

2.CreateanintegratedpackagewithAccessConnections,WirelessLANdriver/application,HotkeyFn+F5

utility,andPowerManagementdriver.

3.Includethedistributionpackage.loaand.sigﬁlesintheAccessConnectionsfolderoftheintegrated

package.Youcanchoosenottoincludethedistributionpackageintheintegratedpackageandinstead

aftertheinstallationoftheintegratedpackageorAccessConnections,copythemintotheAccess

Connectionsinstalleddirectory.

4.Afterrestartingthesystem,AccessConnectionwillrunautomatically,detectandimportthedistribution

packagesilently.Ifthesilentimportoptionwasnotselected,ausercanselectimportfromthemanage

proﬁleswindowandmanuallyimportthepackagebyprovidingthesamepassphraseatthepromptthat

wasusedtocreatethepackagebyadministrator.

Deployonexistingclientcomputers

TodeployAccessConnectionslocationproﬁlesonexistingcomputersthathaveAccessConnections

alreadyinstalledandrunning,completethefollowingsteps:

1.CreateanAccessConnectionsdistributionpackage(*.loaand*.sig)withthelocationproﬁlesthat

containthedesireduseraccesspolicyandclientconﬁgurationpolicyasdescribedinChapter3,

“WorkingwiththeAdministratorFeature,”onpage7earlier.Ifonlytheclientconﬁgurationpolicyneeds

tobemodiﬁed,youcancreateadistributionpackagewithoutexportinganyproﬁlesbutonlyincludethe

modiﬁedclientconﬁgurationpolicy.Forunattendedimport,enablethesettingAllowsilentimportof

thispackageevenafterinstallationofclientwhilecreatingthe.loaﬁle.

2.Copythedistributionpackage(*.loaand*.sig)intotheAccessConnectionsinstalleddirectoryofthe

existingclientcomputer.

3.Afterrestartingthesystem,AccessConnectionrunsautomaticallyanddetectsthedistributionpackage

andimportthepackage.Theimportcanbeforcedbyusingthefollowingcommands:
