Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoremovethecomputercover.

CAUTION:

Turnoffthecomputerandwaitthreetoveminutestoletthecomputercoolbefore

removingthecomputercover.

Toremovethecomputercover:

1.Removeanymediafromthedrives,shutdownyouroperatingsystem,andturnoffallattacheddevices

andthecomputer.

2.Unplugallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.

3.Disconnectthecablesattachedtothecomputer.Thisincludespowercords,Input/Output(I/O)cables,

andanyothercablesthatareconnectedtothecomputer.See“Locatingconnectorsonthefrontofthe

computer”onpage71

and“Locatingconnectorsontherearofthecomputer”onpage72.

4.Removeanylockingdevices,suchasacablelockthatsecuresthecomputercover.

5.Iftherearethumbscrewsthatsecurethecomputercover,removethem.
